About the ‘Enagaging Our Culture’ event
Christians are called to live out their faith in every arena of life – to be whole-life disciples – and that brings with it the tension of engaging with and contributing to the culture of our day, whilst seeking to promote a culture that reflects the character and nature of God.
Join Joel Edwards as he launches CICC in Swansea with an event that will:
- Encourage you in your faith Help you better understand culture in which we live
- Provide practical
- Ideas for you to engage with your culture
Engaging our Culture Podcast, Rev Dr Joel Edwards
Joel sets out four ‘new competences’ needed by Christians in this generation, in order to present the Good News credibly for a 21st Century world. He shows that, based on the Apostle Peter’s call to the first century Christians, to argue about world views and ‘big ideas’ is very Christian, as we need to be ‘ready always to give a reason of the hope within us, with gentleness and respect’. And Joel graphically emphasised that we must not do this by diatribe but by dialogue, becoming ‘ordinary prophets’ in our generation and community.
