Are you in a leadership role in business or in the public sector or in a church?

This CICC Cafe is creating a mutually supportive network of colleagues who are keen to understand and work out a Christian worldview in the challenging role of leadership and organisations.

The launch event took place on 21 April, taking the form of a reception and an interactive conversation to clarify the vision and to develop the form the Cafe will take over time. The decision was to continue the Cafes, combining Bible-based input from organisational leaders together with mutual sharing and support in personal leadership challenges.

If you want an incentive to attend, please check out one member’s blog after he attended the first session. Read it here.

The dates for the future Leadership Cafes are below and they will commence with a light buffet at 6pm. NB – you need to register for EACH date that you wish to attend, to make sure we cater and plan accordingly.

The Cafe is sponsored by Mel Knight, who is Executive Chairman of the Castle Oak Group, and a deacon in his local church. His company is the UK’s leading name in the development, design and construction of accommodation for people requiring care, and has consistently performed well in the Sunday Times’ Best Companies award.

For details on how to find the venue, click the map directions below.

Please register for each Leadership Cafe date by selecting the date and quantity below. You can then move on to purchase other dates or CICC events or resources from elsewhere on the site, or move directly to checkout, by selecting the ‘Go to Checkout’ link in the ‘Shopping Cart’ section at the top right of this page.

(NB. CICC policy is for events to be accessible to all. If, for some reason, you are unable to afford the price of any event, but would want to attend, please email us using the email address at the bottom right, and we will book you in).

Gender Issues – on a Global Scale.

Dr Elaine Storkey will show that a biblical understanding of human gender relations is more than about engaging with issues of church leadership or family life. Whilst these areas are important, she believes that the Bible alerts us to some deep-seated problems which are of global significance.

Today, the absence of legal protection, forced marriage, trafficking and rape as a weapon of war, are alarmingly regular experiences for many women. When these are added to the problems of economic hardship, child brides, illiteracy and disempowerment, we see issues which call for a compassionate Christian understanding and response.

During the evening, you’ll gain an understanding of the global scene; insights into developing a Christian response and how you can make a difference.

Elaine lectures across the world and her writings have brought a biblical perspective to gender issues. She is a popular CICC speaker and her events here are always well attended – so do book your tickets below.

We hope you are able to join us and bring friends and members of your church with you. Elaine’s lectures are always guaranteed to be stimulating, engaging and challenging.

Please purchase tickets for this event by entering the number of tickets below. You can then move on to purchase other CICC tickets or resources from elsewhere on the site, or move directly to the checkout, by selecting the ‘Go to Checkout’ link in the ‘Shopping Cart’ section at the top right of this page.

Britain may be under new political management but will the underlying forces that are driving our culture remain untouched? Mark Greene, Executive Director of The London Institute for Contemporary Christianity, looks below the surface, beyond government, at the dominant nexus of influence in the UK – business.

Calvin argued that the dominant institution tends to shape every area of a nation’s life. How are the core ideas that shape business shaping everything from education, to health, to work, to the shoes on our feet and the spring – or lack of it – in our step? Are these big ideas likely to make our individual, corporate or national life better or worse? And if these are the key drivers, how might the Gospel shape our response as workers, citizens, parents … as human beings?

In this lively, multi-media presentation, entitled ‘Of Logic, Logos and Me Plc’, Mark offers a Biblical perspective and some practical, personal and communal ways forward. Come and discuss.

Each individual’s programme is built around their gifts, talents and passions, encouraging them to look outwards all the time, serving and blessing those around them.

“Core” training consists of three modules:

Old and New Testament – a Christocentric Bible Survey

Spiritual Formation – focusing on God’s Mission for his church and how we fit into that corporately and as individuals, and

Leadership Academy – equipping interns to become inspirational servant leaders capable of transforming a generation.

There is a fee of £1,050 for the year, and most of our interns manage to pay their fees and live for the year (including rent, food etc.) for around £2,000 in total. For those who wish to live at home and to be based in their local church, the costs can be much less.

Below you can download our brochures with lots more information, as well as an application form (under ‘Handout/ Poster’). If would like to discuss partnering with us to invest in a young person (or young people) you know, please get in touch.
