Reformation 500 Commemoration

October 21, 2017 - November 2, 2017
  • This event has passed.

2017 is the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther publishing his 95 theses on the door of the castle chapel in the German town of Wittenberg – an event that has become known as the starting point of the Reformation.

The idea behind marking the anniversary of the Reformation in 2017 is to promote the understanding of the significance of the Reformation for the church, our society and our heritage.

There are a variety of events being organised to commemorate and to reflect on this turning point in history. Consider each opportunity, and plan to attend with friends and family.
