Letting the Bible Speak

EFCW Summer conferences 2011

Letting the Bible speak

‘The most precious thing this world affords’ – so the then Archbishop of Canterbury
described the Bible at the Queen’s coronation.
In the eyes of many people however, sadly even in the church, the Bible
is a closed book, neglected as obscure, outdated and irrelevant.  Yet, in the 400 years since the King James Version was published, it has had a profound influence in moulding our national life.
In this anniversary year it is time to let the Bible speak afresh, to both church and society.
