Why did Jesus eat with people, including those considered ‘outcasts’ by others?
And what have meals got to do with discipleship and disciple-making?
Well, UCCF has arranged a spiritual food-fest, to encourage us to tuck into this subject, and they have invited CICC types to join them! This UCCF day conference will consider the role of friendship and community (and food) in mission.
Tim Chester will lead the day and will focus his teaching around his excellent new book ‘A Meal with Jesus.’ Tim will describe how Jesus did mission through meals, and what we can learn from this approach. He will be sharing from his experience of how he has implemented this thinking in the context of his own church ministry.
Tim is also a church planter with The Crowded House in Sheffield, UK, and director of The Porterbrook Seminary, which seeks to train people for church planting. He’s also the author of more than a dozen other books including The Message of Prayer, Good News to the Poor, You Can Change, and Total Church.
The day is being hosted by the UCCF staff, and will take place at Glenwood Church Centre, Circle Way West, Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, CF23 6UW.
